Fertrell 40% Protein Crab Meal

Crustacean meat meal – a unique protein supplement for poultry and swine. The typical protein levels range from 40% - 48% protein. It is also a source of calcium for poultry. Our crustacean meal is comprised of lobster and Dungeness crab caught in the cleaner waters of the North Atlantic.

After the processing of the crab and lobster for the large portions of meat for the human food markets, there are remains, including meat not collected, internal organs, and some shell particles.

Our crustacean meal is unique in that a portion of the shell is removed to ensure a higher protein and amino acid content. This allows for a higher quality protein for poultry and swine feeds.

It is a food grade by-product that would otherwise end up in a landfill. Using it as a poultry and swine feed ingredient prevents the waste of a valuable resource.

Due to the salt content, we recommend that its inclusion rate in a ration be around 7.5%, does not exceed 10%, and that you seek the advice of your qualified animal nutritionist. If you do not have one, we are happy to help to ensure that you get proper directions for use tailored to the needs of your birds and animals.
